The Shop

The shop offers a large selection of antique lamps, lights, and chandeliers, all of which are restored to their original condition by John Clark. A specialty at Penny Farthing Antiques is clocks. Whether you stop in the store or shop online you will always find the highest quality longcase and tallcase clocks, bracket clocks, mantle clocks and grandfather clocks by great English and German manufacturers including: William Webster and Winterhalder & Hofmeier.

Penny Farthing Antiques is a member of the ACDA (National Antiques and Collectibles Dealer Association) and also of the Leesburg Antique Dealers Association in Virginia.

The business expanded in September 1999. Lesley and daughter Shelley are in the store themselves 3-4 days a week, and will be happy to assist you in finding that special piece of furniture or decorative accessory for your home.

They have spent many years working closely with interior designers to ensure complete satisfaction of their clients and were exhibitors at the first International Decorex exhibition held in Johannesburg, South Africa.  This exhibition has now expanded to the United States and is held once a year in New York. They now exhibit at a few selected high end shows in the US now.

Unique Personal Service

Lesley will be happy to work with your interior designer to accessorize your home with antiques, whether you are just starting an antique collection or adding to an existing one. She will assist in making specialised purchases of antiques, high end porcelains and any other antique accessory to compliment the theme of your home or work together with your interior designer to obtain the best available at a realistic price.

Lesley travels to England throughout the year to get the best antiques available.

"Lesley is the person to call for special needs. She has such great taste and seems to select just the right things for my clients. She makes my life a lot easier with her expertise and attention to detail." ---Jean Higgins, Inside Out Interiors

Dear Lesley,
It has been a pleasure to meet and work with you over the past few years. It is obvious you enjoy your work and that you take a great deal of pride in offering distinctive furnishings of top quality. Your background in the business of "antiques" is reflected in the professional way you handle your business. Your honesty and knowledge are invaluable assets and you have our complete confidence and trust. I have especially appreciated the personal attention you've shown us as we have searched for specific items; you have many terrific resources and because of that we've had the opportunity to acquire some unusual and one-of-a-kind items.

The result is a great collection of furniture, clocks, porcelains and accessories! In addition to these accolades, you are simply a wonderful person to know and are delightful to work with. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us.
---Lindy Stevens
